What happened to the good old-fashioned hand-shake…. Don’t get me wrong in the right circumstance and degree of familiarity there is nothing better than a good hug and kiss!

At 9.20am this morning 15th Sept, being quizzed by Lembit Opik on the breaking story that the Head of a Grammar School in Kent, Mrs Simpson has introduced a policy of pupils shaking hands with the teacher on arrival. Serendipity indeed as I was discussing the behaviour of ‘house guests at my hostess, Christian de Muller’s delightful Castel de Saint-Bernard yesterday morning 11th Sept. over breakfast, to be asked to discuss by BBC Radio London, how I would suggest house guests should behave.
